Instead of the usual show giveaways, Infor on the Road EMEA 2013 donated 5€, or the equivalent depending on venue, to Habitat for Humanity International for each attendee at its 2013 events. Based on attendance, the total donation came to about $10,000.
Making a donation—in lieu of gifts—was an opportunity to showcase Habitat for Humanity International's work to end poverty housing, and Infor's partnership in that effort. The charitable shift was well received by attendees.
"This was a fantastic way for us to support the Habitat for Humanity program and give back to the community," said Cal Dubresson, vice president, Infor field marketing EMEA. "We knew the attendee numbers at these events would be high, and we're delighted this small change in our program has made a significant impact."
On Feb 18, Infor SVP Chris Murphy presented Gail Hyde, CIO of Habitat for Humanity, with a check for $10,000.
"We, at Habitat for Humanity, are honored to accept this generous contribution made by Infor to support our vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live," Hyde said. "With contributions such as this, Habitat has been able to help change the lives of more than 800,000 families worldwide."
Infor is committed to supporting Habitat for Humanity International with financial contributions and employees volunteers (In 2013, nearly 400 employees volunteered on 17 builds in nine cities across the globe).
