'IDC believes that the acquisition of Saleslogix is a good move for Infor and completes a picture Infor has been working on for some time," the analyst firm concludes in a new report.
Infor announced it has entered into an agreement to purchase the assets of Saleslogix, a leading provider of SaaS customer relationship management (CRM) software.
In its blog post, 'Infor to Acquire Saleslogix SaaS CRM for an Undisclosed Amount,' IDC notes:
'In IDC's conversation with Infor CEO Charles Phillips, it's clear that Infor has big plans for Saleslogix. According to Mr. Philips "It's key that CRM be tied to the back office applications such as workforce management and demand planning. CRM alone can't tell you that the product is on the shelf when the customer wants to buy it, that the production schedule matches the sales demand, or that the workforce schedule is aligned with peak sales activities. But with a fully integrated ERP and CRM, enterprises can align sales activities with processes across the back office to deliver a superior customer experience." This is a point on which IDC whole heartily agrees.'
