Just released are Infor CloudSuiteTM Automotive and Infor CloudSuite Aerospace & Defense (A&D) to offer industry applications in the cloud environment.
The CloudSuites build upon Infor's offerings available on Amazon Web Services (AWS), combining beautiful software and rich manufacturing industry functionality with a flexible, subscription-based delivery model to considerably lower upfront IT expenditure and reduce total cost of ownership. Cloud delivery with AWS is managed through a monthly subscription, without the need to purchase additional onsite servers and hardware or hire more IT staff.
The suites provide greater flexibility, better manufacturing, reliable financials, and allow businesses to collaborate electronically across their supply chains in real time. The suites also use Infor ION®, a purpose-built middleware and social collaboration engine Infor Ming.leTM, which facilitates internal and external communications between customers and their suppliers. Applications can be launched remotely, which allows access to emerging partners, suppliers, and joint ventures.
Infor CloudSuite Automotive allows OEMs and suppliers to electronically share data such as demand, supply, and delivery information. The result can shorten delivery times and increase responsiveness.
"Infor's strategy to build a complete CloudSuite for the automotive industry is spot on as it delivers the same features as the on-premises offering, addresses this industry's implementation downtime concerns, and helps modernize customers, especially current Infor customers with their UpgradeX program," said Dick Slansky, senior analyst, ARC Advisory Group.
Infor CloudSuite A&D provides specially configured functionality and analytics for the unique needs of the aerospace and defense industry.
"Aerospace and defense manufacturers are consistently looking for new ways to reduce overhead and cut costs," said Edward Talerico, Infor industry director of aerospace & defense. "Infor CloudSuite A&D gives them the option to manage their technology in the cloud without a large capital expense, allowing them to realize both immediate and future savings while still maintaining flexibility."
