Infor Fashion will present the Fall/Winter 2015 collection of American couturier and ready-to-wear designer B Michael at his fashion show Wednesday, Feb. 18.
The 9 p.m. event at the New York Public Library is part of Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week, which runs Feb. 12-19.
Fashion innovator and pacesetter B Michael began his career as a milliner (hat designer) and honed his skills as a fashion designer and couturier while working in the ateliers of leading designers including Oscar de la Renta. Michael launched his own label, b michael AMERICA, in 1999 and is now at the helm of a multi-faceted brand that includes ready-to-wear, accessories, and the couture collection.
On Monday, Michael tweeted: "Passion + elegance = beautiful design in fashion and technology #MBFW2015 @InforFashion #bmichael."
Wednesday's show also will salute the nonprofit Sanctuary for Families for its efforts to combat human trafficking in New York state. Sanctuary for Families provides domestic violence victims, sex trafficking victims, and their children with a range of comprehensive services. Annually, Sanctuary reaches over 10,000 domestic violence survivors and their children through direct services alone.
