By implementing Infor M3, MacArthur will benefit from a unified enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution with industry-specific capabilities to manage everything from invoicing to inventory across its more than 30 branches. With both manufacturing and distribution services in its product portfolio, MacArthur currently uses Infor CloudSuiteTM Industrial (SyteLine) to manage the manufacturing side of its business.
Infor M3 will seamlessly integrate with the existing solution through Infor ION®, a lightweight middleware application, allowing the company to create an enterprise-wide view of operations.
"The solution we previously used to manage the distribution side of operations was antiquated and could not keep pace with company growth. It also created data silos because of the lack of connectivity between branches, which often made corporate-level decision-making a challenge," said Clyde Rhodes, MacArthur chief executive officer. "Infor M3 is scalable, flexible and will help us to become a more agile company as we continue to evolve. It also unifies information from all MacArthur locations, delivering real-time insight into accounts and orders to help us improve reporting and make more strategic choices."
In addition to its integration capabilities, MacArthur selected Infor M3 because of the Infor Implementation Accelerator designed specifically for the distribution edition of the solution, which will help to speed the deployment process managed by Infor Alliance partner, Avaap. MacArthur's C-suite leaders also felt that Infor's modern, consumer-grade user experience would appeal to next-generation workers as the company looks to hire top talent.
"Multi-faceted organizations such as MacArthur must often rely on multiple, disparate ERP solutions to meet the needs of their business, which leads to a disconnect between users, departments and locations," said Kelly Squizzero, Infor Distribution strategy director. "By choosing Infor, MacArthur is positioned to create a holistic technology environment that delivers industry-specific capabilities for both its manufacturing and distribution operations. This allows the company to better serve its customer base because the overall pace of business is accelerated through greater connectivity, meaning that orders are filled and delivered faster than before."
