Infor is being recognized as the "Company to Watch" by the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce at its annual Best in the Business Awards.
Other honorees include Uber (Most Innovative), Hank Williams Foundation (Outstanding Corporate Citizen), Maisha Walker of Message Medium (Friend of Business), and Kathryn Wylde of the Partnership for New York City (Lifetime Achievement).
"We are proud to be an active member of the NYC community," Infor President Stephan Scholl told the gathering at the Chamber's 2016 Best in the Business Awards Breakfast on Nov 3. He was presented with the award by Arva Rice, head of the New York Urban League, an Infor Education Alliance Program member from inception.
"We are partnering with organizations like CodeNow and the Urban League to expand STEM education to the city's youth," Scholl said. "We are working with the New York Police Department and NY Metro to improve citizen services through technology. And we're having some fun, too, through partnerships with Barclay's Center and the Tribeca Film Festival, and sponsorship of New York Fashion Week events.
"Our move to New York City has fueled remarkable growth at Infor, too" he said. "Our HQ in 'Silicon Alley' has grown more than 325% since 2012 to now occupy five floors. We started with around 20 employees at HQ and now have more than 350. Our differentiation by design and innovative approach to the cloud era led to more than 300% growth in our cloud business last year."
