"When you talk about moving to the cloud, you start to worry about: Are the costs going to be really high? What are the security risks, and giving up control?" says Chryste Hofer, deputy CIO for the city of Greensboro, N.C., in a new video: "Infor CloudSuite - From Customers' Perspectives."
"Ultimately, the security actually was better. The costs worked out much to our favor," Hofer continues. "The value-add is definitely there. We get an integrated user interface, and we are now saving about $750,000 over a 10-year period, which is even better than we had hoped for."
Here are more customer perspectives:
"Moving to the cloud, we'll know up front how much we have to pay. We won't have to worry about cost spikes every three or four year years. We can plan for that easier," says Sherri Penn, enterprise applications manager for Guilford County, N.C. "Technology changes so quickly. I think being able to stay current, that's the biggest payoff."
"We chose Infor for their current functionality as well as future functionality," says Carol Jones, IT financial director at Billings Clinic. "Not having to worry about backup recovery, disaster recovery, that was an ah-ha moment for us. … Upgrades, CloudSuite took that headache off our plate, as well."
"It's great to have a partnership with Infor. They care about us as a client. They want to make sure they deliver on their promises to us," Hofer says. "When we're out there and we're trying to build a unified application, it's just exciting to know they're working with us."
