Infor SyteLine 7 Gains Significant Momentum with Manufacturing Markets

Solution's Newest Enhancements Support Global Traction and Vertical Penetration

ATLANTA - Jun 30, 2005

Infor, the largest enterprise software provider exclusively focused on solving the essential challenges of select verticals in manufacturing and distribution industries, today announced that Infor SyteLine 7, an enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite built on Microsoft .NET, has achieved measurable momentum since its launch in 2003. Since its introduction, more than 450 customers have deployed Infor's extended ERP platform to maintain focus on productivity while addressing increasing internal and external pressures to perform quickly. Manufacturers worldwide have adopted the software system, with companies in 25 countries already utilizing SyteLine 7.

Formerly a MAPICS solution, Infor SyteLine offers an integrated suite of extended ERP, customer relationship management and supply chain management tools to manufacturers. The software suite provides the efficiency to sell and deliver more with less, and the flexibility to adapt to changing business dynamics. The system was designed to serve as the basis for implementing Lean Manufacturing philosophies and equips manufacturers to compete successfully against time. Manufacturers rely on Infor SyteLine to provide the enterprise management systems necessary to move forward in today's global economy and manage for tomorrow's challenges.

Customers such as Esterline Technologies [NYSE: ESL], an international aerospace/defense company headquartered in Bellevue, Wash., have leveraged Infor SyteLine 7 to improve several of their companies with virtually no disturbance to their production cycle.

"We have a number of projects in the works with Infor Syteline at Esterline operations in the U.S. and Europe," said Esterline CFO, Robert George. "It's a solid base that we are building on."

Mike Johnson, Director of Operations at Esterline's Advanced Input Systems subsidiary in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, said, "Infor SyteLine 7 has allowed us to reduce several of our overall business risks, which is important to our effort to lay the groundwork for a multi-site framework that would support our growing multinational business."

The latest enhancements to the system reinforce the existing ERP platform and pave the way for increased world-class advantages. The Infor SyteLine ERP Release 7.04 continues to instill confidence in customers in today's challenging market places. Arriving quickly on the heels of the prior release, just 15 months later, SyteLine 7.04 features 84 functional enhancements, including:

  • Advanced Planning & Scheduling: These enhancements target warehouse planning options, reorder point management, and finite/infinite planning models
  • Financial Management: These improvements are focused on tax management and landed cost generation of inbound goods. Additional enhancements are related to functional components in support of SyteLine as an internal solution
  • Manufacturing Management: These enhancements include alternative part functionality and will facilitate improved inventory control and cost control processes

The Infor SyteLine ERP Release 7.04 also continues to accelerate its international appeal with numerous enhancements supporting it as a global solution. For example, the platform now has stronger vertical support for small component, electronic manufacturers in Asia. This complements the system's existing features for managing the global enterprise, such as various language translations and document sharing that meets country-specific financial reporting requirements

"Striving to help our customers become world-class means continuing to improve upon the areas of our ERP system that have a direct impact on their ability to deliver on the commitments to their customers," explained John Flavin, senior vice president and general manager of Infor Discrete Group. "The newest release of the SyteLine product continues to provide increased value and opportunity to exceed customer expectations, streamline processes and speed times to market, all under the very large umbrella of the global enterprise."
