Infor Recognizes Customers through Excellence in Action Awards at Inforum 2008

Nine Award Winners Honored for Outstanding Business Performance

Today at Inforum 2008, Infor announced the winners of its annual Infor Excellence in Action Awards, which recognize customers for the use of technology to enhance business agility, drive innovation, streamline performance, and grow profitability.Inforum 2008 is the largest annual gathering of Infor customers, partners and experts who want to connect, learn and maximize the value of their Infor solutions.  The nine winners were selected from more than 60 nominations provided by Infor customers, employees and channel partners.

Awards were presented in five categories, including: Operational Excellence, where customers demonstrate a proven ability to reduce operational costs and increase operational efficiency; Customer Excellence, which recognizes a company's commitment to maximize the value of existing customer relationships through organic growth; Financial Excellence, honoring customers who implement financial best practices on a global scale; Innovation, which showcases customers who have applied technology to solve business problems in unique ways; and the Customer of the Year, the Infor customer that best exemplifies innovation across all categories.

Operational Excellence Award winners:

  • Meridian Bioscience, Inc. (Ohio) - elevated operational efficiencies to enhance customer service levels and improve gross profit margins through Infor ERP XA.  Meridian Bioscience improved its visibility into inventory locations, significantly reduced physical inventory requirements, improved inventory accuracy from 60 to 99.9 percent, established complete traceability of all products, reduced scrap rate by 90 percent, reduced accounting close cycle over 50 percent, and doubled sales without additional inventory.
  • Weston Foods (Canada) Ltd. (Ontario) - standardized business processes across 32 manufacturing facilities with Infor ERP Baan IV, using a multi-logistic and single financial model.  This initiative reduced production data entry time 63 percent, cut cost accounting and product data management task time in half and has enabled Weston Bakeries to close their periods in one third the number of pre-implementation days.
  • Sensormatic Electronics Corporation , a division of Tyco International LLC (China) - eliminated equipment downtime and reduced maintenance costs through Infor EAM Enterprise Edition.  Sensormatic has improved its spare parts and stock/procurement work efficiency by 40 percent, reduced maintenance parts requisition times and improved accounting and reporting efficiency by 50 percent.

Customer Excellence Award winner:

  • Banco Bradesco (Brazil) - implemented Infor CRM Epiphany to enhance its relationship with customers, establish competitive differentiation through unparalleled customer service and grow the use of customer self-service channels versus branch offices.  In August 2008, Bradesco surpassed an impressive milestone-63 million accepted offers through its self-service channels, along with a significant increase in sales of financial services.

Financial Excellence Award winner:

  • VF Corporation (North Carolina) - consolidated 37 separate databases into one Web-based solution that is seamlessly integrated with multiple general ledgers and other enterprise applications through Infor PM 10.  By automating many of its financial reports, VF Corporation eliminated hundreds of hours per month in wasted time, sped distribution of financial data to decision-makers, enhanced the accuracy of regulatory reporting, and created more time to focus on data analysis.

Innovation Award winners:

  • Neonlite Electronic & Lighting (HK) Ltd. (Hong Kong) - added Infor Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and Infor SCM Warehouse Management to their deployment of Infor ERP SyteLine to handle shop floor control and materials/logistic management.  Neonlite expects to achieve 20-30 percent improvement in material handling and production efficiency, which will help to increase production.  The company also uses an innovative combination of RFID and barcoding to enhance data capture accuracy, gain greater visibility into inventory and help to reduce material waste.
  • Rodgers Instruments LLC (Oregon) - used Infor ERP Baan, Infor PLM 8 and Infor CRM software to fuel a complete business model transformation.  The company sought a means to offer fully-customized products at the same price and lead times as their competitors' standard models.  This innovative transformation established several new efficiencies throughout Rodger's business, including the areas of product design, manufacturing, dealer relationships, inventory management, and purchasing, while simultaneously opening new revenue channels.
  • AddisonMckee, Inc. (Ohio) - Used Infor ERP SyteLine as part of the company's lean manufacturing roll-out to supplement its existing white boards and metric reporting structure.  The company will also deploy Infor MyDay to provide an innovative means to deliver greater visibility into this data and share it with users in a more personalized way.  With this greater visibility and detailed analysis, AddisonMckee can identify exactly which processes have delivered the greatest efficiencies, where further improvements can be made and which processes have reached maximum optimization.

Customer of the Year

  • Valerus Compression Services, LP. (Texas) - Built their business processes from scratch, around the business-specific capabilities of Infor ERP SyteLine.  Four years ago Valerus was a $14 million start-up with only 35 employees.  Today, Valerus has annual revenue over $550 million with 1,200 employees, a passion for wringing out operational inefficiencies and a fiercely competitive edge.  Built around the principles of running lean, with Infor ERP SyteLine as the foundation, Valerus has achieved Sales, General & Administration (SG&A) expenses substantially lower than competitors, with a correspondingly higher profit margin.  The company now has unmatched visibility into its business operations, as well as completely integrated financial, ERP and CRM system, which helps it to close its books faster, manage its operations more effectively, increase sales, and enhance customer satisfaction.
