NEW YORK - Sep 09, 2014
Infor, a leading provider of business application software serving more than 73,000 customers, today announced the Infor Field Inspector for Community Development and Regulatory (CDR) application for public sector customers. The application is specifically designed to provide mobile access for permit, license and code enforcement inspectors. Infor Field Inspector CDR provides access to the Infor Public Sector CDR modules from mobile devices, allowing field inspectors to review, update and assess application data from a remote location.
Infor Field Inspector CDR is highly configurable and is designed to address the needs of many different users and organizations. The application relies on user profiles to match the content that is displayed to the specific user's job functions. For example, Infor Field Inspector CDR provides different information for a building supervisor versus a code enforcement inspector. Organizations are also able to customize the out-of-the-box functionality and page layouts to accommodate individual needs.
The initial version of Infor Field Inspector CDR is focused on Android devices; however, the core architecture of the application is platform-neutral. This design creates a more efficient use of the device and enables Infor to more easily port the application to other platforms, such as iOS.
Infor Field Inspector CDR is enabled with both Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning System (GPS), allowing users to look up information on a map and to search for records within a certain distance of the mobile device's location.

"For years licensing, permitting and code enforcement has been relegated to an on-premise activity, which for most agencies, is a counter-intuitive practice. The announcement of Infor Field Inspector CDR delivers a full-scale mobile application to provide access to users in the field," said Kevin Curry, senior vice president, Infor Public Sector. "This application equips users with access to critical information, regardless of location or platform, helping to ensure the most accurate data is recorded in real-time."
