NEW YORK - Jul 23, 2013
Infor, a leading provider of business application software serving more than 70,000 customers, today announced that Paul Kauth GmbH, a supplier specialized in punching and forming technology, has decided to expand its partnership with Infor. In this project, the Infor ION middleware solution was introduced. In addition, the company optimized order processing and production logistics with Infor LN Automotive, thus equipping them for the years to come. The ERP solution covers the typical automotive processes and EDI requirements of OEMs in the standard settings. Infor ION facilitates the integration of interface systems of both Infor as well as third-parties through the exchange of XML documents. This new software package is complemented by the Business Intelligence solution Infor BI. With the use of the new solutions Kauth is going to harmonize its IT landscape and will be enabled to reflect, accelerate and expedite more and more complex processes.
For Kauth, project-based business is important - such as with tubes that are already equipped at production in the two plants in Denkingen with the desired tapping units. Therefore careful project management is important, as tools need to be made or bought specifically for each production. For a long time Kauth managed its processes with Infor XPPS, an ERP system from the Infor portfolio designed for the IBM AS/400 platform. "We got along well with Infor XPPS. But bit-by-bit our processes changed because we specialized even more and built a subsidiary for milling technique. Thus the need to create a new, unified system grew that would adequately represent all processes in the company, from order entry to accounting," said Steffen May, Commercial Manager at Paul Kauth GmbH & Co. KG.
Among the five vendors who were shortlisted, Infor was contracted due to extensive experience in the automotive industry. A special project management module in Infor LN Automotive helps bring transparency to costing. Kauth was also convinced by the fact that Infor could provide prefabricated automotive templates for process modeling to accelerate the implementation phase. By February 2014, the introduction should be complete.
"We were looking for a complete system that soundly reflects typical processes. Infor could provide the most convincing system and also had an interesting approach with Infor ION on how to connect other systems such as time management," said Steffen May.
"It pays off that Infor has been investing heavily in its industry focus in recent years," said Bernd Hau, RVP Automotive Sales EMEA at Infor. "We are pleased that we once again were able to win Kauth as customers with our modern solutions. We cover all the latest requirements from one source with the chosen package."
