NEW YORK - Mar 04, 2013
Infor, a leading provider of business application software serving more than 70,000 customers, today announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire and integrate CERTPOINT Systems Inc. (CERTPOINT), a leading provider of SaaS-based learning management software (LMS) and learning content management software (LCMS), into the Infor Human Capital Management (HCM) suite for the Healthcare industry. The CERTPOINT Systems technology will complement the Infor HCM suite for Healthcare by providing a globalized learning platform that combines content management, reporting, mobile learning, certification, compliance, and social learning into a single solution.
Healthcare organizations will be able to easily deliver education, training, and collaboration opportunities across and beyond their organization, including to employees, physicians, volunteers, contractors, and the community. Through a single subscription, organizations can quickly establish multiple learning portals to meet the needs of different audiences, allow user self-registration, and support e-commerce capabilities to turn learning into a profit center.
"The CERTPOINT platform gives us the flexibility to meet the round-the-clock needs of a busy urban hospital," said Juan Barrientos, research education manager, Lutheran Medical Center, a CERTPOINT customer. "Our health care providers can access training anytime, anywhere, and from any device, including smartphones."
Integrating CERTPOINT's solutions with the Infor HCM suite of products will make it easier to ensure mandatory training, certifications and clinical competency requirements are met, while facilitating the critical documentation needed to support The Joint Commission and various regulatory requirements. With CERTPOINT, healthcare organizations can easily deploy off-the-shelf or customized learning, as desired, to help improve patient safety and outcomes, reduce compliance risk, and optimize employee capabilities.
"The acquisition of CERTPOINT is expected to be an excellent complement to our already successful unified human capital management suite of solutions specialized for the healthcare industry," said Tarik Taman, general manager, HCM, Infor. "We will be able to offer our customers even more tools to help enhance employee retention, increase visibility into talent across the organization, and achieve breakthrough performance."
