Infor wins tender from Clermont-Ferrand libraries
The metropolis of Clermont-Ferrand chooses Infor for its re-computerization
The Métropole de Clermont-Ferrand (300,000 inhabitants) has a public reading network of 19 libraries and a book mobile, supplemented by 3 specialized services, the Heritage Library, the Cinema and Short Film Documentation Center and the Superior School of Art of Clermont Métropole. The network is structured around 7 reading pools, each of them constituting a small network.
Clermont Auvergne Métropole has decided to equip itself with a city center library which will be installed in the Dijon pavilion of the Hôtel-Dieu, a building dating from 1770. This 21st century media library will have a reading garden. It “places the user at the heart of the process, carrying meaning and the future for the inhabitants, for the city and for those involved in reading." It will be "a place of culture, relaxation, learning, training, exchanges of conservation and enhancement of heritage". The opening is scheduled for 2023.
The library network serves approximately 40,000 readers.
The objectives of the tender were:
- Develop audiences
- Develop services outside the library walls
- Develop the digital offer
- Prepare the digital section of the Metropolitan Library of the Hôtel-Dieu.
To achieve these goals, V-smart, V-insight, and Iguana will be deployed. The library will also deploy 24 self-service stations. Infor will also deploy EPN management solutions from our partner, Edutice.
"Infor thus consolidates its leadership position on the major public reading networks", rejoices Jean-François Piat, Director of Infor Library and Information Solutions.
