Nestled in the Mississippi River town of Winona, Minnesota, J.R. Watkins has been a pioneer in natural living since 1868. Using only the finest ingredients, the company produces a diverse range of personal care, home care, remedies, and gourmet extracts and spices.
About 10 years ago, J.R. Watkins began its move from a direct marketing model towards a focus on large retail and wholesale customers, which include Walmart®, CVS Health, Rite Aid®, Costco®, Safeway™, Target™, Whole Foods Market® and Loblaws®.
The strict delivery dates required by these customers placed pressure on the company to more accurately manage everything from procurement to manufacturing and distribution.

Besides simplified implementation, this move to the cloud has eliminated the costs associated with servers, racks, and management. The company also has faster access to the latest version of Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage, without the massive effort related to on-premise upgrades.

With the solution hosted by Amazon Web Services, J.R. Watkins has high availability and unlimited potential for growth—without committing to long-term capacity contracts.
The company has also gained advantages with standards-based middleware Infor ION® and social business platform Infor Ming.le™ working together to provide greater visibility. By moving emails into workflows, for example, the company is now able to identify issues and eliminate bottlenecks while also saving time and energy.
