NewPay and the power of one
In 2019, the US Government announced NewPay, a long-awaited, single solution that brings payroll as well as work schedule and leave management technologies and efficiencies into the 21st century.
Infor is proud to be part of a partnership with other industry experts—Grant Thornton, CGI, The Arcanum Group, and DAI Solutions—that will help guide government agencies in leveraging digital technologies for NewPay.
There are some pretty big numbers behind the push to automate and consolidate outdated systems under the shared service NewPay model. Functions like payroll (which is addressed by NewPay), finance management, and travel cost the government—and taxpayers—more than $25 billion annually. By eliminating redundant contracts, technology, and processes between agencies, the OMB estimates the government could save up to 30 percent. This has worked in the past: Only a decade ago, the federal government had 26 payroll systems. Now it has far less. The result has been $1 billion in savings.
Infor’s unique NewPay value proposition is “the power of one”—offering its solution suite with one FedRAMP security authorization, one common user interface for payroll as well as work schedule and leave management, one technology platform, and one cloud—Amazon Web Services (AWS). Our NewPay solution is fully integrated out of the box and supported through US-based operations.
Infor’s track record of successfully paying Federal employees spans 20 years. Our FedRAMP authorization provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring. And because a system is only as successful as the people who use it, we have designed our common user interface to make for a smooth NewPay implementation and adoption.
Specifically, NewPay standardizes and speeds key staffing processes, including:
- Common Government-wide Accounting Classification (CGAC) locality pay for step/grade salaries
- Support for interfaces with Federal Third-Party Administrators (TPAs)
- Real-time payroll analytics
- Workforce management
- Compliant time and attendance tracking
- Shift- or demand-driven optimized scheduling real-time labor analytics ‘
- Self-service mobile features
And, finally, NewPay is being deployed in the cloud. That means the Federal Government has truly embraced the present and future reality of successful technology implementation. Cloud deployment offers out-of-the-box integration and the assurance that users are always working with the latest version of all applications, without added in-house resources.
Infor is pleased to be at the forefront of building a new culture of efficiency and innovation at the highest levels of the US Government. You can read more about NewPay here.
