The latest speedway to connectivity

August 16, 2019 By Corey Spears

Infor Clinical Bridge is exactly what its name says—a bridge between your Infor ERP systems and your clinical systems. Linking EHRs like Epic, Cerner, and others to Infor CloudSuite Financials, it delivers value, fast.

Infor currently has over 70 Clinical Bridge customer projects, with 35 in the cloud and 37 on premise. These clients are using Clinical Bridge for clinical system connectivity with Supply Chain, Finance, Contract Management, and Point of Use.

Built on the Infor Cloverleaf Interoperability engine, data is shared quickly and securely across applications and vendors. And Clinical Bridge is about to get even better.

In a recent webinar kicking off Clinical Bridge 19.1, we showed how our latest version of this managed service drives quick adoption and ROI. As a managed service offering, Infor is responsible for all deployed interfaces, with defined templates and pre-built clinical adapters. Healthcare organizations can integrate faster and caregivers, clinicians, and inventory managers are freed from non-value-added processes.

During the webinar, I was able to share some impressive results of Clinical Bridge in action at Park Nicollet Health Services. This large healthcare entity has used Clinical Bridge to:

  • Reduced cath lab inventory from $5.7 to $2.6M
  • Eliminated $600 in expired supplies before point of use
  • Reduced inventory counting from 3 weeks to 6 hours
  • Empowered clinical leaders to focus on stock reduction

With the advent of Clinical Bridge 19.1, organizations will see even more value with the new Contract Management integration, providing special and consignment item visibility. Beyond standard inventory products, it is also critical that clinicians be aware of the availability, status, and cost of these special and consignment items. It will greatly help reduce the tracking, inventory management, and billing issues caused by clinicians choosing clinically or functionally equivalent products, but which do not represent what is actually available or used. Adding to the finance area, we also are completing the information loop by adding a refund check issuance interface back to the revenue management system that compliments the AP patient refund request interface.

I am pleased to say that a Clinical Bridge investment delivers a great ROI and is built on technology that can often be implemented in as quickly as 30 days.
