The North American Infor Libraries User Group - V-Users - will be hosting an Iguana "hands-on" workshop at Kingston-Frontenac Public Library on June 16-18, 2014.
Topics include:
Non-Iguana CMS Integration | Best practices for integrating Iguana into a non-Iguana Content Management Systems. Demonstrate some of the common issues and how KFPL solved them. |
Content & User Management | How do you use Iguana to organize your website. Focus on Page creation and the CMS side of Iguana, with some time spent on setting up User Accounts and Roles. |
InforXgateway API / Web Service | Explanation of the API, how to access it, what it can do. Demonstration of possibilities (KFPL Suggest a Purchase Application) |
Publisher | Using the publisher as an Events/Calendaring Solution. Using publisher as a blogging or communication platform. |
Theming | How to create a unique theme with CSS and JavaScript (jQuery), creating your own “No Image” replacement images, etc. |
WebOPAC Preferences | What WebOPAC preferences are still integrated into Iguana. How to best set up those preferences to add new features and maintain the same functions/information from the WebOPAC |
Mobile Site / Responsive Design | Best practices for implementing a mobile version of Iguana. Differences between Desktop and Mobile interfaces. Changes to implementation with Iguana 3.0. |
RSS Feeds | Intro to RSS feeds and how to set up feeds in Iguana. Demonstrate specific feed types, wordpress, evanced calendar, and how to manage their content. |
OverDrive Integration | How to use the OverDrive Developers API to add additional information (availability, cover images) to catalogue records. Requires an OverDrive Developers account. |
Iguana Search | Everything you wanted to know about Iguana's Search features but were afraid to ask. Customizing your search experience with Search Profiles & Filters. Advanced Search (Expert Search in 3.0). WebOPAC settings and profiles. |
Animations | How to set up animations. Demos of each of the settings. Focus on getting each some of the more complicated Animation types of work (savelists, hot lists, etc.) |
CMS parameters | A look at the current CMS parameters and their impact. |
The workshop is open to all existing and future Iguana website and discovery customers.
