When Chico's FAS experienced explosive growth thanks to its popular women's clothing brands - Chico's, White House | Black Market, Soma Intimates, and Boston Proper - the Florida-based specialty retailer added 300,000 square feet to its centralized distribution warehouse and doubled its distribution team to 1,200 employees.
But there was another key investment: Infor EAM, which Chico's implemented in 2012 to better manage its massive, complex inventory and keep track of its key assets.
It's easy to see why tracking inventory crucial to Chico's. The company operates 600 Chico's boutiques and 100 outlets, 402 White House | Black Market boutiques and 45 outlets, and 206 Soma Intimates boutiques and 16 outlets throughout the United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico.
With Infor EAM, "when we need a part, we know where it is. We know we got it. We know exactly where to look, and we can call in support staff team members to get it done quickly," says Brad Taylor, Chico's director of engineering and facilities.
Taylor is confident that as Chico's grows, Infor EAM can scale with it: "One of the things that's great about Infor EAM is that no matter what size business you are, it's going to be able to support that. So as we continue to grow, we know the tool is going to be able to keep up with that growth."
