New Zealand’s iconic Super Rugby team and Infor: high performance partners

Habitat Hand-up Christchurch

As part of our global partnership with Habitat for Humanity and our commitment to giving back to the community, Infor recently participated in the Habitat Hand-up Christchurch project to build homes for families in need.

The project has made a huge difference to the Christchurch community and has furthered our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in New Zealand. We donated US$20,000 to the build through our CSR team, provided volunteer labour from Infor Pacific and the Crusaders, held a street party to celebrate success, and generated media exposure for the project and the plight of families in need.

Over the course of the last month we have had Crusaders players, staff and Crusaders Academy members volunteer their time and I know that they have all loved having the opportunity to be involved in this build. It is great to be involved in a project where the direct benefits to this community andto the familes involved are so clear to see, so we congratulate Infor and Habitat for Humanity on driving the project.

Habitat Hand-Up Build May 21 – June 8, 2015

Infor Pacific employees together with volunteers and players from the Crusaders and the Christchurch community rolled up their sleeves recently for a weeklong build in Bromley, working on 11 homes.

The $7.6m project involves the construction of 21 homes to re-house families in need following the devastating earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 which destroyed 20,000 homes. Habitat Hand-up Christchurch will see families housed in decent homes, eliminating the health issues faced in their current houses and putting them on the path to home ownership over a ten-year period.

Seven Sharp TVNZ was on site during the build and the street party to film the project’s progress success. This included interviews with some of the families, members of the Crusaders and Infor employees. They will be running a two-part documentary in the coming month featuring one of families who will move into their new home.

Street Party June 8, 2015

To recognise all the hard work undertaken, Infor held a street party on Monday June 8 2015, which saw the community, Infor employees and members of the Crusaders come together to celebrate the success of the build.

Crusaders Head Coach and the Crusaders team presented a tree to each of the 11 families to plant in their new gardens.

It was humbling to be there last night and see how grateful these families are for the help they’re receiving. But this is no handout—these families have been working incredibly hard themselves to get their new homes built and it is awesome to see them so close to being able to move out of their current sub-standard living situations and into the new houses that they’ve been so involved in constructing.
