Atlanta Public Schools Elevates Human Resources to the Cloud with Infor
Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, today announced that Atlanta Public Schools (APS) is successfully utilizing the Infor UpgradeX program to migrate to the latest, cloud-enabled versions available in the Infor Human Capital Management (HCM) suite. Infor UpgradeX provides organizations with a clear, simple path for upgrading or migrating to Infor 10x on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
As one of the top 100 largest K-12 institutions in the U.S., APS has successfully deployed the latest version of Infor HR Service Delivery in the cloud, and is currently implementing additional applications including Infor Global HR and Infor Dynamic Enterprise Performance Management (d/EPM), an integrated suite of financial performance management applications, packaged analytics and compliance tools. Once completed, this project will help APS to deliver faster, more consistent human resources (HR) services to its employees.
With the Infor UpgradeX program, APS can take advantage of future enhancements much more quickly because Infor will help us better manage our upgrade needs," said Fred Jenkins, human resources technology manager, Atlanta Public Schools. "We are also providing employees with unified access to everything from benefits information to performance evaluations, which will help us to resolve more routine inquiries without HR intervention, allowing our HR team to focus on more value-add projects and strategic objectives."
As the first phase of the project, APS wanted to standardize and streamline its onboarding process to create a more positive experience for both prospective candidates and hiring managers. Prior to implementing the Infor program, onboarding a new employee was time consuming and paper intensive, often requiring several hours for applicants to complete necessary information. With Infor, APS has successfully reduced the amount of time between employee selection and the actual employee's start date by eliminating manual processes using the application's built-in workflows and personalized new hire portal. Once the initiative is completed, new employees will also have the option to complete certain training courses through Infor Learning Management before they begin working for APS to increase productivity and minimize the employee's adjustment period.
