A ‘Lady-Built’ Home – Habitat Atlanta Women’s Build
Infor women from the Alpharetta, Georgia, office and surrounding area participated in the Habitat for Humanity Atlanta Women's Build in Woodstock, Georgia, recently. Twenty-plus women installed siding on several homes for two days of hard work and teamwork.
"I was on the Wednesday team, and we had a great day working on two houses," said Nancy Stracener, Infor principal business systems analyst. "It is always nice to hear a little something about the families who will be living in the homes. Both had compelling stories: One family was fleeing religious persecution, and another was escaping an abusive relationship."
"It's amazing how hard everyone worked, taking each phase very seriously. Each lady showed team spirit and comradery with each other," said Judy Carter, Infor finance director. "I heard a story on a previous build, and thought of this as I watched the ladies hammering away at the siding. It was said, 'None of these lady-built houses will get blown away with as many nails as they put into them.' Even though I had white sealer on my face, arms and clothes, it was a fun day. The worst part was I got it on my new combat boots."
