Old Neighborhood Foods Strengthens Technology Portfolio With Infor CloudSuite™ Food & Beverage
Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, today announced that Old Neighborhood Foods (ONF) has selected Infor CloudSuite™ Food & Beverage to help drive growth and simplify core processes. Headquartered in Lynn, Mass., just outside of Boston, ONF is a multigenerational, family owned and operated manufacturer of quality meat and deli products. By selecting Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage, powered by Infor M3, ONF has opted to replace the antiquated technology platform that currently facilitates its operations across multiple locations. By standardizing with Infor, ONF hopes to achieve greater ease of use amongst employees by adding a level of visibility and transparency, providing them with a more user-friendly platform while also optimizing essential daily operations such as tracking, costing, inventory and data entry.
As ONF continued to grow, the need to implement a more robust and reliable technology platform became paramount for ONF management. Before switching to Infor, ONF had relied upon decades-old legacy systems that were showing signs of fatigue and had begun failing to provide a level of reliability needed to compete within a rapidly modernizing industry. To counter these challenges, decision-makers sought to invest in newer technologies that could relieve some of the more cumbersome tasks such as manual data entry and also deliver a higher level of inter-organizational connectivity and reporting. By choosing an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, ONF will gain a robust applications platform, and by selecting Infor, the company can also count on the reliability of a beautiful, industry-specific cloud solution.
"Our company exists in a highly competitive marketplace, so our need to leverage cutting-edge technologies that are both affordable and scalable is so crucial to our continued success. With Infor, we are able to adopt a right-sized approach to manage the unique scope of manufacturing and sales infrastructure, thereby helping to reduce non-essential costs without sacrificing the value that we deliver to our customers," said Andrew Demakes, director of food service sales, Old Neighborhood Foods. "Infor provides us with forward-thinking tools that are not only easy to use, but also position us for further growth by eliminating redundancies and simplifying the decision-making process."
By switching from an on-premise to cloud hosting deployment model, ONF can enjoy lower capital IT investments by reducing the need to rely on physical infrastructure, patching upgrades or server maintenance. ONF will also benefit from Infor's strategic relationship with Amazon Web Services (AWS), which provides a high quality secure hosting environment.
The appeal of Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage to OFN expands beyond the pure aesthetics of the software or the reliability of cloud hosting. A key part of ONF's enhancement includes the adoption of Infor Ming.le™, a social collaboration engine that will help streamline communications amongst employees, suppliers and customers. With such technologies implemented, ONF hopes to better prepare for the next generation of employees that can be brought up to speed faster using a modern and collaborative technology platform.
"Old Neighborhood Foods is an exemplary case for how process manufacturers can be proactive in ensuring business continuity for years to come. Rather than waiting for the aging legacy systems to fail over time, then replace them urgently, Old Neighborhood Foods has made a very sound investment in cloud technology that will help modernize the core infrastructure for future growth," said Mike Edgett, industry & solution strategy director, Process Manufacturing, Infor. "We look forward to working with Old Neighborhood Foods for years to come and hope to help them further establish themselves as a pioneering force within the industry."
