Infor Acquires Accentia to Support IMEA Growth
One year after forming a dedicated business unit for India, the Middle East, and Africa (IMEA), Infor announced triple-digit license and subscription growth today at its flagship regional event, Infor Next Dubai. Infor also announced the acquisition of Accentia Middle East, a leading IT supplier in the region, to support its continued momentum.
As Middle Eastern countries diversify their economies beyond oil and gas, Infor sees a unique opportunity for its mission-critical cloud applications and suites. To address this, the company created the IMEA business unit and installed Tarik Taman, who previously led its global HCM business, as its leader, based at Infor's regional hub in Dubai's Internet City.
Taman says the demand is so strong that Infor will quintuple its market share by 2020.
"The next few years represent the tipping point in the Middle East, India, and Africa, with government officials and business executives understanding the macroeconomic catalysts driving the necessity to embrace digital transformation," Taman said.
Infor has considerable presence across IMEA, with more than 5,000 customers and 2,500 employees. The acquisition of Cairo-based Accentia will add just over 80 professionals to Infor's employee base. In addition to its regional hub in Dubai, Infor IMEA has offices in Riyadh and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; Cairo, Egypt; Tunis, Tunisia; Johannesburg, South Africa; Casablanca, Morocco; and six locations across India, including a Center of Excellence in Hyderabad.
The primary focus industries for Infor in IMEA are manufacturing, distribution, retail, hospitality, and healthcare. New customers of Infor cloud applications include Saudi Arabian mall and property firm Arabian Centers, which is a division of Al Hokair Industries; India's largest retailer, Future Group; and leading manufacturers Future Pipe Industries and S.K.M. Air-Conditioning.
