Infor Announces EEF National Manufacturing Conference Sponsorship

United States – January 25, 2018, 09:00 AM

Infor, a leading provider of industry-specific cloud applications, today announced it will once again be a sponsor of the EEF National Manufacturing Conference. Set for the February 20, 2018, at the QE2 Conference Centre in Westminster, the National Manufacturing Conference is the premier event in the industry calendar, bringing together industry leaders, politicians and thought leaders to deliver unparalleled industry insight and analysis.

As part of its fourth consecutive sponsorship, Infor will host a dedicated workshop: "Support and sustain your post-Brexit workforce". Chaired by Tim Thomas, Director of skills and employment, EEF, this session will demonstrate practical steps employers can take to future proof their workforce throughout and after Brexit. This will cover immigration status, upskilling and training as well as investing in digital manufacturing technologies and automation. As part of the workshop, Infor will demonstrate its insight into behavioral analytics and talent development, showing how UK manufacturers and workforces can adapt for commercial success outside of the European Union.

Cormac Watters, executive vice-president and general manager, Europe, Infor said: "Infor has a proud history of working with the EEF, reflecting our commitment to the varied industries within manufacturing. This partnership has never been more pressing as the economic impact of Brexit and the disruption of digital technologies and the fourth Industrial Revolution, are brought to bear on UK manufacturers. Workforce and staffing issues, be it recruitment, retention, learning or development will be profoundly impacted by these changes and we look forward to a day of insightful debate and thought leadership."

Speaking about the session, EEF's Tim Thomas said, "We're delighted to partner again with Infor, for what will be a business-focused workshop looking into the complexities that Brexit will present to professionals charged with planning, retaining and training their workforces of the future. The unique challenges faced by the UK's impending EU exit will call for creative and innovative approaches by employers, who will need to be nimble and smart if they are to survive and thrive in the post-Brexit world".
