Infor Invests in Equipment Industry
Infor, a leading provider of business application software serving more than 70,000 customers, today announced significant investment in the equipment dealership industry. Infor will invest heavily in product development, with approximately 200 staff dedicated to the Infor Equipment product set at the company's Stockholm innovation center. In addition, Infor has created a dedicated Infor CAT Dealer Advisory Council committed to the support, development and use of an industry specific template that leverages the collective experience and knowledge of all members to create competitive edge.
"Equipment dealers have a special set of business challenges and need to meet growing competition and price pressures head-on by using visibility to manage outsourced value chains," said Mark Wright, executive vice president, Infor. "Infor is investing heavily in products and working closely with equipment dealers to help them control, track and coordinate the entire equipment lifecycle and manage internal sales, finance, service, warranty and rental departments to promote better customer service and equipment maintenance."
Infor has also created a center for innovation in Stockholm, Sweden dedicated to the equipment industry. Global in nature, the center will include more than 200 Infor employees in the areas of development, consulting, maintenance, support, and training.
As part of this commitment to Caterpillar equipment dealers, Infor has created the Infor CAT Dealer Advisory Council. Led by dealers, the group will focus on identifying the most effective and efficient associated business processes that scale to provide accessibility to a wide range of dealers. Caterpillar dealers who are customers of Infor and aligned with the vision, mission and governance of the group are welcome to join the Infor CAT Dealer Advisory Council. There are nine initial members in the Infor CAT Dealer Advisory Council.
"Participating in the Infor CAT Dealer Advisory Council enables us to convene with our peers to help determine best practices that Infor is building into its products to help us operate more strategically and profitably," said Rens Bouman, program director, PON Equipment and PON Power, one of Europe's largest Caterpillar dealerships and service providers.
Infor is the world's third-largest supplier of enterprise applications and services, helping more than 70,000 large and mid-size companies improve operations and drive growth across numerous industry sectors. To learn more about Infor, please visit www.infor.in.
