Infor recognized for philanthropic work with Habitat for Humanity
Infor, a leading provider of business application software serving more than 70,000 customers, today announced its recent recognition as a laureate in the Computerworld Honors Program for philanthropic work with Habitat for Humanity. The annual awards honor individuals and organizations that use information technology to promote positive social, economic and educational change, highlighting the pivotal role that technology plays in transforming the relationship between business and society.
A national partner of Habitat since 2012, Infor is currently in the process of helping the nonprofit organization standardize the Infor Office of the CFO Suite across 51 locations and 1500 users in 28 different countries. This will enable global visibility from headquarters and facilitate information sharing to create a highly functioning, consistent financial infrastructure. Infor is discounting these services in support of Habitat's mission.
Through its national partnership with Habitat, Infor advances corporate citizenship initiatives and provides Infor employees with an opportunity to give back to their local communities. In total, Habitat received $500,000 in build funding, including monetary employee donations and matching grants through Infor's Employee Giving Campaign. Infor employees have also participated in ten volunteer builds since the launch of the partnership.
"Working with organizations like Habitat for Humanity is important to Infor, and we are happy to provide not only funding and volunteers for builds, but technology that helps to improve their financial business processes," said Charles Phillips, CEO, Infor. "Infor is honored by the recognition from Computerworld and continues to work diligently with Habitat for Humanity, not for the outside acknowledgement but for the opportunity to help create affordable housing around the world."
"Corporate partners make it possible for Habitat for Humanity to build with low-income families around the globe," said Gail Hyde, chief information officer, Habitat for Humanity International. "Our work with Infor has grown beyond a business relationship, into a true partnership extending Habitat's mission through collective outreach to local communities. We congratulate Infor on this recognition of their support."
