Infor SyteLine Wins Census Bureau's Automated Resource Planning System Contract
Infor, a leading provider of business application software serving more than 70,000 customers, today announced that the United States Census Bureau has selected Infor SyteLine to deliver a fully integrated, automated enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. As the principal source for data on the nation's people, places and economy, the Census Bureau's use of an enterprise technology platform will provide valuable tools for the management of material and logistics requirements. The overall result will enable the reduction of costs through improved efficiency and collaboration throughout the Census Bureau.
Infor SyteLine will allow the Census Bureau to configure terminology and workflow processes to meet its specific needs. This will help increase efficiency by allowing employees to spend less time on administrative tasks and focus on managing and analyzing data. The Census Bureau will be able to more effectively and accurately manage several thousand inventory items. With in-depth analysis and reporting functionality, decision-makers will have the ability to evaluate a more complete depiction of the Census Bureau's needs to help reduce overall inventory levels.
Census Bureau employees will benefit from easy access to consolidated information that can automatically be shared throughout the agency. This will reduce the need to consistently input new data and facilitate enhanced communication and collaboration between users.
Infor SyteLine's time-phased material management capabilities will also enable enhanced, real-time visibility into total demand. That, in turn, will support better purchasing decisions to help reduce overall procurement costs.
