Infor Taps AWS GovCloud (US) to Drive FedRAMP Authorization
Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, today announced an initiative to make Infor CloudSuite Public Sector available to government agencies and publically-run industries that are required to meet FedRAMP (Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program) compliance standards. The system will be hosted on the Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) GovCloud (US), further strengthening Infor's alignment with a leading cloud provider, AWS. The agreement will also provide Infor with guidance from AWS Partner Network (APN) partner, Day1 Solutions, a strategic consulting organization that specializes in cloud implementations. In addition, Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (Kratos) will serve as an advisor to Infor for meeting FedRAMP requirements.
"We are fortunate to have a strong APN partner community of companies who share a focus on customer experience, rapid pace of innovation, and standards-based architecture," said Teresa Carlson, Vice President, Worldwide Public Sector, AWS, Inc. "This collaboration allows Infor to focus on its core competency of building the best enterprise applications for their customers, who in turn benefit from the most advanced infrastructure for cloud deployment with AWS."
Infor's cloud-first approach delivers a unique value proposition to both government and private sector customers, by offering software-as-a-service (SaaS) hosting options with a diverse range of industry-specific capabilities. For Infor customers in the public sector, the demand for cloud technology comes with the expectation for a high level of security and compliance standards. By provisioning Infor CloudSuites within the AWS GovCloud (US), government customers will be able to migrate to FedRAMP authorized cloud environment, an industry standard that can be applied to all of Infor's enterprise customers.
"We have invested in providing our customers with the best functionality, security, reliability, and services, all grouped within the industry-tailored Infor CloudSuite Public Sector that is optimized to fit the unique compliance needs of the Federal Government," said Wayne Bobby, vice president, Infor Federal. "We have a growing demand from our government community to provide cloud options that meet FedRAMP controls and we feel AWS GovCloud (US) delivers the best cloud platform. Through this process we will gain best practices that we can then apply to any of our global customers that look towards FedRAMP as the cloud compliance standard."
Infor first aligned with AWS in April of 2014, a relationship that has helped Infor achieve significant growth in cloud adoption amongst customers. This is in part due to the high standards for security, compliance, and best practices that are achieved through AWS hosted cloud deployment. The expansion to the AWS GovCloud (US) represents a strategic advancement in Infor's evolution as industry cloud-company by securing a path for government-regulated organizations to benefit from the agility and elasticity of the SaaS model. The combination of Infor business applications with last mile functionality, the reliability of AWS and the implementation expertise of Day1 Solutions creates a considerable value proposition for public sector customers looking to migrate to the cloud.
