Inforum 2019 Celebrates Productivity Delivered
Infor is in the business of productivity. At Inforum 2019 — where the theme is productivity delivered — the convergence of digital technologies like cloud computing, data analytics, networked supply chains, supercomputing, artificial intelligence and machine learning are on full display.
Attendees at Infor’s flagship customer conference Sept 23-26 in New Orleans got eyes-and-ears-full at Tuesday’s General Session, which centered on Infor’s plans for the 2020s, calling it “the decade of productivity.” In the 2020s, Infor technology will do more for business than we ever imagined, and the 2020s are only months away.
Infor’s new CEO Kevin Samuelson told customers to expect “The new normal: Productivity delivered”—with better business outcomes, superior customer experience, faster time to value.
Infor President and Chief Technology Officer Soma Somasundaram noted the rightness of Infor’s industry focus and CloudSuites delivery that enable customers to benefit from continuous innovation without interruption. “We want to eliminate the word “upgrade” from your vocabulary,” he said. He noted the Infor Data Lake introduced last year is now connected to every Infor CloudSuite.
He introduced Infor Coleman AI Platform — now generally available — as the new enterprise user experience that will transform CloudSuites into Intelligent CloudSuites — predictive, prescriptive, and preventive.
The company also announced Infor Connected Analytics, which will provide healthcare organizations with the holistic information they need to improve operational efficiency across business functions and clinical service lines. Powered by the Birst analytics platform, the solution gives health system executive leaders and other decision makers a consolidated view of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics from across multiple Infor CloudSuite Healthcare applications.
Infor also announced it is partnering with QAD Precision to expand multi-modal capabilities for parcel shipping using Infor Nexus applications.
Infor Agility—a new deployment package
Rod Johnson, general manager of the Americas, and Cormac Waters, general manager of Infor international, took the stage in tandem to introduce a new implementation and service model called Infor Agility, with faster time to value and minimal disruption.
“The only limitation today is our imagination,” Johnson said, “but only if you can take advantage of it.”
There is more than one path to the cloud. It doesn’t have to be all in, they said. There is:
- Core to the cloud — going all in at once, including mission-critical apps.
- Edge to the cloud — starting with edge apps
Like Deckers Brands, leading footwear designer and distributor of brands UGG® and Teva®, which started with Infor Nexus applications to streamline its system for automating and integrating supply and demand data into one real-time view that uses machine learning to project inventory issues.
- AI to the cloud — starting with better data
Like Miller Industries, a world leader in towing and recovery equipment, which is using the Infor Data Lake, Infor Coleman AI Platform, and Birst analytics to combine internal and external data sets, more precisely analyze and forecast workforce and business performance and, ultimately, better manage its business processes.
Implementations will change from big bang to a series of sprints. And to derive maximum value from new technology and cloud deployments, Johnson and Watters announced Infor Process Intelligence, powered by Signavio—combining Signavio’s powerful process mining and process management capabilities with Infor’s Implementation Accelerators.
The duo concluded with “a big, hairy, audacious goal”: With all these cutting-edge tools and practices, Infor will deploy twice as fast at half the cost.
