United States – June 04, 2018, 10:00 AM

Karn Johal is a director on the Birst Partner Team in San Francisco. He helps Infor partners develop capabilities to generate, influence, and deliver on Birst sales opportunities.

What do you do on the Birst Partner Team?

I am responsible for delivering in-person technical training and enablement for Birstlnfor's best-in-class business intelligence and analytics solutionto 100s of partners, consultants, and solution consultants in cities around the world. I host multiple web-based sessions that reach an expansive audience.

What are you and your team up to?

We are responsible for producing a wide variety of collateral, such as developing short videos for public consumption that showcase multiple aspects of Birst; establishing highly interactive self-directed, hands-on content that anybody can use to become familiar with Birst; and evangelizing Birst in person at events around the world.

What's the best thing about the Birst Partner Team?

I stand on the shoulders of giants. Birst, and the incredibly supportive Infor ecosystem, has a high concentration of impressive people with shared core values and the mindset that teamwork matters. I am incredibly fortunate to get to learn from smart people every day.

If you were ever unsure about the value of our next-generation analytics platform, consider this as proof: Birst makes you look smart.

How do you exhibit a sense of urgency in your work?

I led a proactive response to news of Infor's acquisition of Birst in April 2017. Before the ink was even dry, I retooled and augmented my training and enablement materials for the various groups we'd be working with, from partners to solution consultants. I applied the success I had with Birst partners to scale to an immense, new, and diverse audience in adopting Birst.

What are you doing outside of work?

I am a fan of all things soccer (coaching, playing, refereeing, and supporting Liverpool FC). Family is also extremely important to me. Even my daughter works at Infor.
