Pernod Ricard Drinks to Better Demand Forecasts with Infor
Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, today announced that Pernod Ricard, owner of brands such as Absolut, Campo Viejo, Malibu, Jameson and Chivas Regal, has made substantial improvements in demand forecast accuracy using Infor Demand Planning. Combined with the expertise within the Pernod Ricard supply chain team, the flexibility of the application has helped Pernod Ricard UK achieve an ongoing improvement in demand forecast accuracy and a more optimal inventory level.
Taking data directly from the commercial teams such as field sales and account managers, Infor Demand Planning is helping Pernod Ricard to better align supplies of its products to customer demand. Infor Demand Planning has also helped Pernod Ricard develop consistent processes and best practice throughout its operations.
At present Infor Demand Planning is deployed throughout Pernod Ricard UK, and Pernod Ricard Travel Retail EMEA, the affiliate covering the Middle Eastern and North African countries, the Netherlands and Belgium. Spain is set to soon go fully live, and South Africa will be live at the end of 2016. Other affiliates will follow.
"We originally looked at Infor Demand Planning as a way of optimizing our existing processes," said Ben Gibson, Operations Director, Pernod Ricard UK and TREMEA. "Our legacy processes were not automated due to multiple data sets. With so many different brands with different lead times, we needed to marry a consistent back-end set of processes to the dynamic demand figures from our commercial teams. Furthermore, we needed the application to be flexible enough for us to adapt that data and feed it into our ERP systems. This is what Infor Demand Planning allows us to do and we are now expanding this capability throughout the EMEA region."
"Businesses such as Pernod Ricard have to manage demand and distribution across different product brands and different market geographies," said Paul Carreiro, Executive Vice President, Managing Director, EMEA, Infor. "This creates complexity that must be harnessed to ensure customers get the products they want, when and where they want them, but in a cost-effective and profitable manner. All of that begins with better demand forecast accuracy. This project demonstrates the substantial benefits that businesses can reap from demand planning at scale, reducing inventory and improving customer service."
