Perstorp Injects Integration Opportunities with Infor ION

United States – May 05, 2015, 13:00 PM

Perstorp Specialty Chemicals has completed an integration project connecting its Infor Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) with its SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) application using Infor IONTM, Infor's lightweight middleware.

Perstorp has been using Infor EAM since 2002. After a reorganization, Perstorp decided to increase its maintenance activities and so needed a more efficient flow of information between the finance and purchase departments. Perstorp upgraded its Infor EAM solution and used Infor ION to create eight inbound and six outbound EAM flows. The ERP is the master for spare parts and vendors, thus enabling the EAM purchase order and the goods receipts and returns to be mirrored in the ERP application. The seamless integration supports a great variety of purchases for material (stock and direct), inventory, goods receipt and services.

"The overall objective was to have a more seamless integration between EAM and ERP," says Mikael Carlström, IT Manager at Perstorp AB. "By integrating the two systems, invoices can now be matched in our ERP and mirrored in EAM providing us with one consistent set of data."

"Building on our deep domain expertise, Infor is able to deliver an application that as standard meets the requirements of Perstorp to a very great extent and still leaves room for Perstorp to expand and strengthen their maintenance activities," says Malte Ekedahl, Infor sales director in Sweden.

Carlström concludes: "It was a pleasure working with Infor who took full responsibility for the project led by an experienced and knowledgeable Infor project manager. The team's knowledge and professionalism was a major factor in making the outcome a success."
