Rubis Terminal Makes Infor First Port of Call for Asset Management

United States – May 02, 2017, 09:00 AM

Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, today announced that Rubis Terminal, a leading liquid bulk storage terminal based in Paris, has selected Infor EAM in the cloud. The application, which will be deployed at the company's headquarters in France as well as 10 terminals across Europe, is expected to deliver improved asset reliability and reduced downtime.

With three million square meters of rental storage capacity for petroleum products, chemicals, agricultural products and fertilizer, and 13 million tons of throughput each year, Rubis Terminal plays a crucial role in the energy supply chain. Most of its locations are classified as sites holding dangerous goods and are strictly regulated, which includes preventative maintenance of assets. Assets also represent the heaviest financial burden for the company therefore optimum maintenance is absolutely crucial to success.

Having undertaken an Infor EAM pilot in the cloud for its Rotterdam and Antwerp terminals, Rubis Terminal selected the application for its headquarters and a further 10 oil and chemical terminals across France. The decision was based on the software's best in class capabilities and ease of use, as well as a standardized approach to set up across all sites.

"The value of our assets and exposure to risk via the nature of the products we store means that asset maintenance is crucial part of our business," comments Gerard Lafite, COO, Rubis Terminal. "Furthermore, our site teams are fairly modest in relation to the size of the asset so it is really important that all operational staff can be up and running and using our chosen system quickly and easily. Infor EAM allows us to complete asset maintenance easily and effectively, while supporting regulatory compliance and facilitating intuitive management reporting to inform our planning teams."

"Storing bulk liquids on this scale means that assets are effectively the DNA of the business," comments Kevin Price, Product Management & Product Strategy Director for Infor EAM. "Infor EAM helps organizations to manage their assets optimally, avoid costly downtime and prevent equipment failure through boosting reliability. In addition to supporting Management of Change, Permits to Work and Lockout, Tagout, Tryout mandates, as well as other regulatory frameworks and compliances pertinent to the oil & gas and chemicals industries, Infor EAM helps deliver the all-important visibility required to anticipate and mitigate issues which threaten the bottom line."
