University of Virginia Medical Center Revamps New Hire Orientation with Infor
Infor, a leading provider of business application software serving more than 70,000 customers, today announced that University of Virginia Medical Center, a 604-bed, level 1 trauma center serving Central Virginia, has successfully implemented Infor Onboarding. Part of the Infor Enwisen HR Service Delivery suite, Infor Onboarding automates and organizes the new-hire process for employees, hiring and line managers, to help the center reduce administration, costs and risks.
"Previously HR pre-employment sessions took more than two hours, four HR Assistants were needed to support the pre-employment process, and we had a lengthy paper-driven process," said Shelley Tattersall, eLearning Consultant at UVA. Since deployment, the team reduced pre-employment sessions to less than 15 minutes, staff needs by 50 percent and the paper trail by 85 percent.
Infor Onboarding was able to simplify the benefits process and promote informed employee benefits decision support. As a result, a presentation that previously took up to three and a half hours was reduced to 90 minutes and 52 pieces of paper that the original system generated were reduced to only two documents.
"Our goal was to improve the quality and consistency of information provided to new hires and also revamp our processes," continued Tattersall. "We are now able to pull any information needed from the new employee's application and pre-populate all the documents that need to be completed. The new employee never needs to fill in their name, address or phone number. The system is also customized so that each employee can receive information specific to his or her situation."
In addition, Infor Onboarding eliminates many traditional bottlenecks for more efficient processes, making for a more unified workflow.
