Throughout this series, Infor™ and Amazon Web Services® (AWS®) walked you through what artificial intelligence (AI) agents are and how they differ from chatbots, and we explored their core capabilities, patterns, and the safeguards required for reliable adoption. Now, we would like to take a closer look at real-life customer examples where AI agents are transforming industries.

When AI agents are built specifically for distinct industry needs—often referred to as industry-specific or micro-vertical AI agents—they unlock even greater value by addressing the unique challenges and needs of each sector. Unlike general-purpose AI tools that force a one-size-fits-all model, industry-specific AI agents are purpose-built to orchestrate and automate complex, high-value business processes based on the needs of individual industries and accompanying micro-verticals.

Infor Industry AI Agents are specialized, role-based AI solutions built into Infor CloudSuite™ and accessible via the Infor GenAI Assistant. These AI agents leverage deep industry context, real-time data, and orchestrated control to optimize end-to-end workflows in areas such as projects, supply chains, workforce, finance, customer service, and analytics. Purpose-built on micro-vertical processes, they enable businesses to reduce errors, accelerate decision-making, and scale operations securely while maintaining human oversight. By integrating seamlessly into existing systems, Infor Industry AI Agents help organizations unlock immediate value, improve efficiency, and maintain competitive advantage across diverse industry sectors.

Real-world early adopter examples: Embracing AI agents today

While still in early stages, several forward-thinking organizations are pioneering AI agent adoption for their verticals with Infor Industry AI Agents powered by AWS. These customers are exploring the potential of AI agents in their respective industries and have shared early feedback with us on their current journeys.

Xpress Boats (Industrial manufacturing)

Founded in 1966, Xpress Boats has grown over three generations into a leading manufacturer of all-welded aluminum boats. Committed to innovation and cost efficiency, Xpress Boats continues to revolutionize its production methods to deliver superior solutions. It currently operates on Infor CloudSuite Industrial.

“Infor Industry AI Agents and GenAI Assistant have the potential to redefine how we operate. By streamlining processes, reducing manual effort, and delivering instant access to real-time insights, they can empower every level of our organization, from the shop floor to leadership, pushing us to work smarter. What excites us most is not just the efficiency these tools unlock today, but the way they're helping us think bigger and reimagine the future of our operations.”
– Jennifer Terry, Information Systems Manager, Xpress Boats

For companies like Xpress Boats, AI agents can help monitor project timelines, analyze delays, and optimize production workflows, all without leaving Infor CloudSuite Industrial.

Gellert Global Group (Food and beverage)

With over 100 years of experience, the Gellert Global Group is a major player in North America’s food-importing sector. Its combined resources strengthen sourcing, finance, logistics, food safety, and information technology (IT) across multiple companies. It runs its operations on Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage.

“Infor Industry AI Agents have the potential to significantly enhance enterprise resource planning (ERP) functionality—delivering faster access to information, quicker issue resolution, and improved customer satisfaction. By automating repetitive tasks, these agents enable employees to focus on higher-value work that drives business growth and competitive advantage. Although we are still in the early stages of testing and Infor's development is ongoing, the potential we've seen makes us excited about a promising future ahead.”
– Shen Lu, Chief Information Officer, Gellert Global Group

Within the food and beverage industry, companies like Gellert Global Group are working toward automating routine ERP inquiries and enabling faster response times with AI agents. They can leverage Infor Industry AI agents to improve supply chain and customer service operations on Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage.

Confluence Health (Healthcare)

Confluence Health is an integrated healthcare delivery system in North Central Washington, operating two hospitals and over 30 medical specialties. Focused on innovation and quality care, it invests in modern technologies to enhance patient outcomes and provider efficiency. Its systems run on Infor CloudSuite Healthcare.

“What excites us about Infor's GenAI Assistant is its understanding of our data. It helps leaders and staff with real-time information in clear, straightforward language, eliminating the need to sift through systems or run reports. Even better, its agents act on our behalf—from processing requests to generating communications. This means we spend less time on manual tasks and more time utilizing our staff's talents and caring for our patients.”
– Stace Webley, Financial Systems Support Manager, Confluence Health

Within the healthcare industry, organizations such as Confluence Health are exploring the possibilities of AI agents to manage inventory, streamline patient data access, and automate communication tasks within Infor CloudSuite Healthcare. Though still in the early stages of their AI Agent journey, these companies are evaluating and understanding the value of Infor Industry AI Agents.

From manufacturing floors to healthcare facilities, these examples reveal how Infor Industry AI Agents solve everyday challenges. By freeing employees from repetitive tasks and providing instant access to critical data, these AI tools enable teams to focus on higher-value work. These organizations are not only evaluating how they can enhance operational efficiency, but also reimagining how work gets done, creating new possibilities for growth and customer value.

Why Infor Industry AI Agents are a game changer

Infor follows an approach of building task-based Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools on Amazon Bedrock that are API-driven. These tools leverage the knowledge embedded in Infor’s Industry Process Catalogue to create goal-oriented agents. This results in highly domain-specific agents tailored to multiple business areas, including Order Management, Finance, Warehousing, Sales, and Service.

Additionally, Infor is enhancing automation capabilities by building MCP tools that integrate with existing systems, drawing on our deep understanding of industry-specific business processes. In scenarios where mature industry processes, such as “Order to Cash”, require both new domain-specific agents and pre-existing rule-based agents, our agentic orchestration coordinates execution. This orchestration ensures seamless communication and cooperation between different technologies and programs.

Infor Industry AI Agents are powered by MCP tools, which are exposed via an API gateway to enable access to and leverage key CloudSuite capabilities.

Through MCP tools such as:

  • Robotic Process Automation (RPA): Agents can execute automated workflows and handle repetitive business processes at scale.
  • Integration via the Intelligent Open Network (ION) middleware: Agents can connect and synchronize data across multiple systems and applications in real time.
  • Data Fabric: Agents gain unified access to data across the organization, abstracting underlying complexity and enabling intelligent data consumption.

Together, these MCP-integrated capabilities allow agents to automate end-to-end processes, maintain system connectivity, and make data-driven decisions without manual intervention. This means businesses don’t have to switch between different applications or do repetitive work themselves. The AI agents can handle complex jobs by using MCP tools to plug into all the right systems at the right time, making work easier and faster for everyone.

AI agents represent a new era of intelligent automation, one where software assistants are not generic tools, but specialized, role- based collaborators embedded deeply into industry workflows with access to complete data. These characteristics enable AI agents to automate complex business processes—not just simple tasks—amplify human expertise, and drive continuous process innovation and optimization. When designed for specific roles and verticals, these AI agents help enterprises reduce risk, improve efficiency, and empower teams to focus on what truly differentiates their business.

Powered by AWS, Infor Industry AI Agents bring this vision to life, delivering industry-specific AI solutions designed to amplify expertise and optimize processes across complex environments. Infor Industry AI Agents are currently available in limited release, with broader availability planned for 2026.
