Cloud ERP definition

Cloud ERP – also called cloud-based ERP or SaaS ERP – is enterprise resource planning software that runs on the vendor's infrastructure rather than on servers you own and maintain. You access it through a secure internet connection while the vendor manages the underlying infrastructure, updates, security, and support. It covers the same core functions as traditional ERP – finance, supply chain, manufacturing, procurement, sales, and HR – without the servers, patching, and upgrade cycles that running it yourself requires.

Keep in mind, remote access alone does not make a system cloud ERP.
