Infor has been named as a Major Player in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Configure Price Quote Applications for Commerce 2020 Vendor Assessment (Doc #US45353319, June 2020). The IDC MarketScape recognition underscores Infor’s rising prominence in cloud-based CPQ solutions.
Jordan Jewell, IDC research manager for digital commerce, discussed the evolution of CPQ and B2B commerce in the introduction: “To satisfy the modern B2B buyer, CPQ applications must enable B2B sales, such as orders with hundreds of line items, subscriptions, and combinations of digital and physical products and services. CPQ applications must also support a wide range of business models, including traditional high-touch deals led by sales reps, collaborative quoting and selling, and self-service deals that can be checked out on the customer's mobile phone.”
The IDC MarketScape assessed vendor strengths and weaknesses in product, service, deal configuration and quoting, pricing, and contract management.
After thoroughly evaluating Infor's strategies and capabilities, the IDC MarketScape positioned Infor as a Major Player, noting: “The company's CPQ offering, its Infor Configure Price Quote, is a SaaS offering that pairs with Infor's CloudSuite ERP, CRM, and B2B digital commerce applications.”
The IDC MarketScape listed one of Infor’s strengths as “industry focus: In addition to CPQ, Infor provides industry-specific CloudSuites utilizing industry best practices, processes, and analytics all delivered as a cloud service on AWS.”
With Infor CloudSuite CPQ, companies can sell complex products more quickly from opportunity to close, eliminating costly errors and speeding the sales cycle. Infor CPQ automates order pass-through and customer proposals, optimizes the buying experience, guarantees fast and accurate orders, shows products in 2D or 3D models, and accelerates new product introductions.
“We are constantly enhancing our CPQ functionality, introducing our mobile platform and advanced visualization capabilities as well as incorporating our Coleman AI and Birst analytics technology,” says Ron Eismann, Infor vice president of strategy. “We are pleased to be named a Major Player by the IDC MarketScape as powerful validation of our efforts to keep innovating for our customers.”
