Gartner® named Infor a Leader in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Workforce Management Technology. We see that recognition as a reflection of the investments we have made and the outcomes our customers experience. It also comes at a moment when the market is shifting in ways we hear about directly from those customers: the organisations succeeding today treat workforce management as a strategic capability, not an afterthought. Here is what we see changing and how we are responding.
Where the market is headed
Much of the pressure comes down to competing for the same limited pool of workers. Across healthcare, public sector, hospitality and retail, organisations face high demand, harder recruiting and the need to do more with the staff they already have.Expectations have risen among the workforce too. Employees want the same mobile-first experience at work that they have everywhere else. For frontline staff rarely at a desk, that means on-the-go access to schedules and the ability to swap shifts or set availability from their phones.
AI follows the same pattern. It works alongside employees and managers to automate routine tasks, like scheduling and approvals, so they can be where they are valued most: with the people they serve. That is why most organisations have moved past debating whether to adopt AI and are focused on how to make it work in practice.
Beyond workforce expectations, external forces are accelerating these decisions. Vendor consolidations and forced upgrades have many organisations reevaluating whether their current systems still fit, while others weigh a single global standard against local labour laws and compliance requirements. For some, this could mean changing systems entirely, not just fine-tuning what they have.
How Infor is responding
Most workforce management systems handle everyday scheduling well enough. Far fewer hold up when the operation is genuinely complex. Serving organisations across more than 20 industries, that is where Infor Workforce Management is built to stand apart:
- Designed for complexity: Made to support very large, complex frontline workforces and intricate time and attendance requirements, with configuration tailored to industries like manufacturing and healthcare, so staffing decisions hold up under complexity simpler systems cannot handle.
- A helping hand with AI: Infor Industry AI helps managers forecast demand, flag coverage gaps, and shape schedules, whether around patient workloads in healthcare or service-level agreements in security, so managers spend less time untangling staffing and more time on decisions that need a person.
- Compliance woven into the platform: Configurable schedule rules, pay rules and alerts help organisations stay ahead of labour regulations across regions, instead of reacting after a gap shows up.
- Control in the hands of the frontline: Mobile self-service lets employees view schedules, swap shifts and manage availability directly. Giving people more say over their schedule is one of the most effective levers in retaining frontline staff. In fact, one of our customers, a major airline, saw its frontline scheduling sentiment score improve from 4 out of 10 before Infor Workforce Management to 9 out of 10 after go-live.
We believe this recognition affirms our continued investment in building for that complexity, so organisations can support their frontline and their frontline can better support the people they serve.
