Automation and compliance, where volume hits hardest
For suppliers, labeling and packaging errors can incur original equipment manufacturer (OEM) chargeback, rejected shipments, or corrective action requests. Warehouse staff can now generate customer-specific labels with mobile scanners using Factory Track. When the box is picked, the label prints automatically and a scan-based check confirms the right label is applied to the right handling unit. This poka-yoke approach catches mislabeling at the dock, not at the customer. Logistics teams can prevent packaging errors by defining packaging instructions at the business partner level. Optimizing truck load has also become a lot easier without manual calculation of outer handling units—but directly in the shipment planning workspace.
For OEMs, the vehicle identification number (VIN) registration is now built natively into the enterprise resource planning (ERP). A configurable VIN mask structures the number to industry standards, enforcing the 17-character format, uniqueness, and check-digit validation. In one continuous process, every vehicle and its costs are immediately traceable to the individual unit, strengthening regulatory compliance, and eliminating the cost and complexity of a separate VIN management system.
Finally, we have made it easier for quality management teams to close rejected inspection orders. They no longer need to run the full inspection process where the disposition is already clear. That removes unnecessary steps and improves audit compliance. When a rejected quantity is updated in quarantine inventory, the ERP alerts logistics and quality teams straight away, so material doesn’t sit unnoticed, blocking storage and delaying replenishment.
Infor Velocity Suite: Improving responsiveness and OTIF
Infor Velocity Suite brings pre-packaged industry AI solutions to solve operational challenges that put delivery performance at risk. The latest solutions anticipate material shortages, detect emerging quality issues, and monitor contract fulfilment—enabling earlier action to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), OTIF, and profitability.
Material shortage check for production execution
Protect assembly schedules by addressing material shortages before they disrupt production. An AI agent checks upcoming material needs against expected stock and recommends action, such as moving stock from a nearby warehouse in the same group or updating a purchase order due before the shortage occurs. Planners stay in control: They can review the recommendation, ask the agent to make the change, and run the check again to confirm that the shortage is resolved. This helps OEMs keep production on track when even one missing component could cause delays.
SPC and quality trend detection
Reduce scrap and rework by spotting quality issues before they escalate. AI monitors production measurements, flags emerging problems, and assesses the risk of defects so engineers can act while corrections are still straightforward. Clear quality charts and an AI-generated summary bring tailored insights directly into Infor LN for each company and work center. Whether on a vehicle assembly line or in a component plant, teams can address issues earlier and help protect OEM scorecards.
Contract fulfilment widget
Tier suppliers running global sales contracts with hundreds of thousands of lines need to identify missing consumption, deviations, and demand patterns to manage the OEM relationship proactively. It’s now possible for them to monitor consumption, via an AI-driven contract fulfilment widget directly in the shipping planner and supply chain manager workspaces.
A simplified route to the agentic enterprise
Moving from isolated AI pilots to AI that works across the business can quickly become complex. The 2026.10 release helps remove that complexity, making it easier for automotive companies to extend agentic AI across planning, logistics, quality, procurement, and other core processes.By adopting the Model Context Protocol, Infor LN-based CloudSuite solutions give AI agents a standard way to connect with business processes and access Infor LN’s 6,000+ OData application programming interfaces (APIs), removing the need for hard-coded integrations. Infor has also simplified the agent landscape, consolidating more than 100 single-purpose agents into 12 domain agents that can work together through generative AI (GenAI).
And greater automation does not have to mean giving up control. Existing API authorizations and security policies continue to govern access, helping organizations scale agentic AI across their landscape with control and accountability.
