Key healthcare innovations from Infor's October 2026 Release

The cost of delivering healthcare keeps rising. Workforce, drugs, supplies, and technology are all more expensive, and patients are older and more medically complex. The American Hospital Association estimates that roughly 19% of hospital expense growth between 2019 and 2024 came from caring for sicker, more complex patients. At the same time, reimbursement and margin pressure mean costs are often rising faster than the revenue available to cover them. As a result, healthcare leaders are being asked to "do more with less." For most leaders, it does not mean simply cutting. It means making every clinician, every dollar, and every minute of staff time go further while still improving outcomes and the patient experience.

That goal is shaping how we are investing across our portfolio for the 2026.10 release, with industry-specific capabilities designed to help healthcare organizations maximize resources, simplify work, and build a foundation for what comes next. These investments span finance, workforce management, supply chain, and interoperability. Much of this release is powered by Infor Industry AI, built to deliver these outcomes in a safe, governed way.

Get more value from every resource

A 2026 report from the American Hospital Association estimates that administrative costs now account for 25% to 35% of all US health care spending, with substantial opportunity to streamline them. These investments help reduce manual work and catch problems earlier, cutting waste so every resource goes further.

AI-powered financial forecasting and anomaly detection
Predicting cash flow with static models is unreliable, and billing or accounting errors often surface too late to act on. New AI-powered forecasting addresses this, using historical transaction patterns to improve cash flow visibility and financial planning, while AI-powered anomaly detection flags unusual activity before it becomes costly.

Workforce anomaly detection and open shift automation
Spotting staffing risks before they disrupt operations, and filling a shift when someone calls out, are both difficult and manual today. AI-powered workforce insights enable organizations to identify coverage gaps, workload imbalances, and workforce risks before they impact operations. Open shift automation fills staffing gaps in minutes, not hours, cutting manual work and supporting workforce stability and continuity of care.

Packing slip automation
Matching packing slips to purchase order receipts by hand is slow, and documents are easy to misfile or lose. Packing Slip Automation automatically associates packing slips with purchase order receipts, cutting manual document handling and administrative effort. Receipts are processed faster and are easier to audit.

Make work easier across the organization

Efficiency is not only about cost. It is also about taking work off the people who keep a health system running, from frontline staff to back-office and technical teams. When technology is easier to use and reduce complexity, people have a better experience and can focus on higher-value work.

Infor Mobile Hub
Healthcare workers spend too much time switching between screens to complete simple tasks. Infor Mobile Hub delivers a redesigned mobile experience that enables employees and managers to complete common tasks more quickly through streamlined navigation, personalized workspaces, and AI-assisted capabilities. The result is a unified, easier way of working that improves both productivity and satisfaction.

Par transfer
When one unit runs short, supplies borrowed from another are often tracked by phone call, paper form, or memory. New par transfer capabilities give staff a standard way to record that handoff, with automated transaction tracking, a documented chain of custody, and the matching expense transfer. Leaders can also see which items are borrowed most often, which makes it easier to address service levels in both locations.

GenAI-assisted interface development
Integration engineers lose significant time locating objects and working out what a change might break. New GenAI capabilities in Cloverleaf allow integration teams to locate relevant objects using natural-language search, assess the impact of changes, and develop code more efficiently. Interoperability projects move forward faster, with less effort required to maintain them.

Create a foundation for what's next

To succeed over the long term, healthcare organizations need a foundation built for what comes next, including future security threats. That is why we are focused on making that foundation extensible and governable, so new interoperability, analytics, and AI use cases can be added without rebuilding it each time.

Infor FHIR Services Platform
Infor already offers FHIR services, and this release makes them easier to adopt. The Infor FHIR Services Platform delivers reusable, standards-based services on a scalable, cloud-native platform, with pre-packaged use cases and faster deployment. This gives organizations a reusable FHIR foundation to build on for future clinical, regulatory, analytics, payer-provider, and AI initiatives.

Governed, trusted AI
As AI becomes more embedded in healthcare operations, leaders need confidence that it is secure, accountable, and compliant. New AI governance and monitoring capabilities add configurable guardrails, interaction tracing, and feedback monitoring to the Infor GenAI Assistant, giving IT visibility into how AI is being used and the controls to keep it appropriate. This is a platform-level release currently in limited availability.

Looking ahead

The challenges facing healthcare organizations are not getting any simpler. Financial pressure, workforce shortages, and growing operational complexity will keep forcing organizations to find new ways to maximize resources while improving care delivery. These same pressures are shaping the future of healthcare, and they shape where we invest, release after release.

The innovations in the Infor CloudSuite Healthcare and Cloverleaf 2026.10 release are designed with that reality in mind. Whether it is using AI to catch risk earlier, automating manual work to give staff their time back, or building a governed foundation for what comes next, each investment is focused on the same goal: helping healthcare organizations do more with less.
