The 2025 Infor™ Community Hackathon has officially crowned the winning projects. This year’s event was a fast-paced competition where participants tested their skills, developed ideas, and built working prototypes to solve real-world challenges. It also provided a chance for participants to connect with peers and Infor experts while exploring the capabilities of the Infor Industry Cloud Platform.
Participants competed in three distinct tracks: Customers, partners, and Infor employees. More than 60 teams with nearly 300 participants from around the world registered for this year’s Hackathon. Teams submitted their project ideas from May to June. After proposals were reviewed, selected teams worked on their projects from July to September, before the judging phase began. Winners from each track were announced at our awards ceremony on October 29 in Orlando during Infor TechX.
Final projects were evaluated on several key criteria to ensure a well-rounded assessment. Judges looked for innovation and creativity, focusing on how unique and original each solution was. They also considered the business value and impact, evaluating whether the solution effectively addressed real-world challenges. Technical implementation was evaluated, measuring how well the solution was built from a technical perspective. User experience and design were assessed to ensure the solution was intuitive and easy to use. Additionally, adoptability was reviewed to determine how easily the solution could be implemented and scaled. Finally, the clarity and professionalism of the presentation and documentation were taken into account in the final submissions.
This year’s submitted projects were outstanding, and it was not easy to pick the overall winners. The teams came together and went beyond expectations to tackle real challenges with strong solutions. Here are the winning teams from each track.
Partner track—1st place winner: Team Mashfrog Pink
Project: End-to-End Return Automation and Analysis Tool
Challenge: Many companies still handle customer returns manually via email, leading to delays, errors, and miscommunication. Staff must sort and re-enter data, resulting in wasted time on administrative tasks and a slow credit or replacement process for customers.
Solution: Using the Infor Velocity Suite, Team Mashfrog Pink fully automated the returns process from start to finish. Their solution automated email handling and data entry, significantly reducing errors and speeding up returns processing. This frees employees to focus on higher-value tasks. They also leveraged a generative artificial intelligence (genAI) agent to provide insights into return reasons and associated costs, helping improve decision-making.
Customer track—1st place winner: Team Benco Dental
Project: DEA License Validation Automation
Challenge: When a customer orders a controlled substance, the order must pass through a Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) checkpoint that requires verification, flagging any discrepancies. This manual process often causes delays and slows down order processing. Regulatory and compliance teams become overwhelmed by the volume of manual checks required to maintain compliance.
Solution: Team Benco Dental created an automated verification process, using Infor Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Infor Document Processor (IDP), and Infor GenAI, part of the Infor Velocity Suite. Their solution automatically retrieves new orders placed on hold for DEA verification, extracts order details, validates them against the government’s DEA website, and either releases valid orders immediately or alerts regulatory affairs when issues are detected.
What once took nearly 30 minutes now happens in seconds. This automation reduced workloads by over a quarter, saving approximately $25,000 US annually while freeing up time for higher-value tasks. The automated checks run in real-time against the DEA’s Diversion Control Division database, ensuring compliance, improving accuracy, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
Internal track—1st place winner: Team TrueBenefitAI
Project: Automated Benefits Reconciliation
Problem: Each month, benefit administrators manually reconcile provider invoices with employee benefit enrolments to identify discrepancies between payroll deductions and billed amounts. Investigating the cause of these discrepancies, such as terminations, life events, or leaves of absence, is a manual and time-consuming task that can take hours depending on the client’s size.
Solution: Leveraging Infor Velocity Suite, Team TrueBenefitAI created an automation solution that loads email invoices directly into the finance system, matches them against payroll deductions, and flags any discrepancies for the administrator to review. Using natural language processing (NLP) and an agentic AI framework, the solution assists administrators by asking targeted questions to help reconcile enrolment data with carrier invoices. This reduces manual work and speeds up the reconciliation process.
We were amazed by the enthusiasm, passion, and thoughtfulness of the projects that were submitted at this year’s Hackathon event. We look forward to continuing the event next year. Learn more about the winning projects and finalists on the Infor Developer Portal.
