The second annual Infor Community Hackathon is officially in full swing! With registration closed and project proposals selected, we’re now entering the highly anticipated build phase, the heart of the Hackathon where innovation truly comes to life.
This year’s event marks the beginning of what is now a tradition at Infor: a global, virtual competition that invites customers, partners, and employees to push the boundaries of what’s possible on the Infor™ Industry Cloud platform.
A global call to innovate
The Infor Community Hackathon fosters a fast-paced, supportive environment where participants can stretch their skills, test ideas, and turn bold concepts into working prototypes. It’s also a powerful networking experience, connecting participants with peers and Infor experts while exploring the full potential of the Infor Industry Cloud Platform.
The 2025 Hackathon has drawn registrations from across the Infor ecosystem. With registration from over 60 teams made up of nearly 300 participants from around the world, the energy and creativity in this year’s competition is exciting. Teams submitted their project ideas during the registration period of May 1 to June 8, and after careful review, selected teams are now moving forward to build their solutions between July 10 and September 5.
Participants are competing in three distinct tracks: Customers, Partners, and Infor Employees, ensuring a fair and focused competition for everyone involved. The top teams from each track will win cash prizes and complimentary passes to Infor TechX, where winners will be celebrated at a live awards ceremony on October 29 in Orlando.
What to expect during the build phase?
- Access to tools and training: Participants will use Infor’s cutting-edge technologies within the Infor Industry Cloud Platform, including Robotic Process Automation, Process Intelligence, AI, and more, to build their solutions. Free training resources are available on the Infor Developer Community platform.
- Dedicated mentorship: Each team will be assigned a mentor to provide guidance, answer questions, and keep them on track throughout the Build Phase. Mentors play a critical role in helping teams overcome challenges and refine their projects.
- Focus on innovation: The Hackathon is a sandbox for experimentation. Teams will prototype fast, test continuously, gather feedback, and evolve their solutions to create impactful outcomes.
- Collaboration and community: Participants will be part of a strong community, sharing ideas, learning from peers, and networking with Infor experts.
What’s being built?
This year, teams are focused on four high-impact areas:
- Industry-specific process automation with AI/GenAI
- Predictive analytics & decision support
- ESG & sustainability solutions
- Enhanced customer & employee experience
Teams were asked to outline their project goals and how they plan to leverage the Infor Industry Cloud platform in their submissions. Selected teams are now entering into the Build, Test, Iterate cycle—prototyping solutions, getting feedback, and refining their ideas with guidance from assigned mentors.
Recapping last year’s standouts
To see what success looks like, you can see some of the projects built by the winners of last year’s Hackathon:
- First place: The winning team automated the processing of property tax assessments for agricultural enterprises. Their solution, built with Infor RPA and IDP, turned a weeks-long manual task into a process completed in minutes.
- Second place: The runner up revolutionized product photography using AR glasses integrated with CloudSuite Distribution and leveraging Infor Document Management, enabling real-time product visibility and hands-free image capture at retail stores.
