Your favourite quote in times like these?
We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender … - Winston Churchill
Something positive that you have learned from the current challenge?
To react faster than before. To look for what is really important and what is really just some noise. To plan and have a strategy, but not to spend hours coming up with questions of what they might do (government) instead of knowing what they really said. And also that big boys don’t cry!
How do you motivate yourself during this crisis?
I have never really stepped out of the business since this crisis has started. Botanique brand has been my baby in the last Year so I simply told myself, this can not be the end of all the hard work we have pulled together with my team to bring this hotel to life. Not only do we want to overcome this, but emerge stronger, leaner and better. No time to sit in the corner. In every crisis somebody makes money.
A new habit – apart from “Social Distancing?“
To communicate more with my team, to repeat over and over what we have done, why and what we will do next. I would like to learn how to relax more during the crisis.
What particularly impresses you at the moment?
In business how some people pulled together new business concepts within days, not month. How some people, maybe even having nothing, went to help others and donate their skills and time.
