Instructor Spotlight: Abdullahi Ali

Everybody loves a good story.
This is the motto Abdullahi Ali grew up with in Somalia before coming to the United States. Also known as "The Land of Poets," he would look around his community and be amazed by how groups of people could sit around telling stories for hours.
"It's a skill I think I learned from my family and elders. They enjoyed our reactions and the questions we asked during a story," Abdullahi said.
Now, as the newest M3 instructor on the Delivery team, he will be bringing those storytelling skills to customers and Inforians alike.
Abdullahi joined Infor in 2020 after working in transportation and logistics post-graduation. He began working with the Business Development team before transferring to a consulting role in Dallas, Texas, in summer 2022.
"I chose to get into technology at Infor because it sounded like a challenge; something different each day, which I was hungry for."
While taking some courses and working with instructors, Abdullahi thought about how exciting it would be to someday be a part of the Education team. With mentoring and training experience at previous workplaces, he thought it would be a perfect fit. As the year progressed, he was presented with an opportunity to fill a role in M3, the product he had worked with all year.
"It's as if the universe heard my inner thoughts. I just didn't see it happening this quickly for me."
As an M3 instructor, Abdullahi will be teaching various courses throughout the M3 processes for both public and private classes. When he heard his storytelling skills would transfer well into the Education department, making the move was not a difficult decision.
"It was a no-brainer for me after the wonderful experiences I had with my own instructors. I feel lucky and honored to have this opportunity."
In his free time, Abdullahi is a hometown sports fan of all kinds, supporting the Minnesota Vikings, Wild, Twins, Timberwolves, Lynx, and Loons. He is also a true crime afficionado, and particularly enjoys Dateline and 48 Hours.
