What healthcare CIOs are telling us

As healthcare IT leaders continually find themselves at the intersection of what’s best for the organization, patients, and the entire industry’s future, the Advisory Board recently surveyed 84 CIOs about Health IT and their priorities and challenges.

The results weren’t surprising, but they did reveal the complexity of what CIOs face today. They were asked questions about everything from value realization to regulatory programs. I was pleased to see that Infor—in both healthcare and across industries—has successfully anticipated what these CIOs articulated as most important to them.

The top five areas of high interest for the survey respondents were:

1. Foster a data-driven culture at my organization. (59.6 percent)

5. Understand applications and use cases for emerging technologies and communicate potential challenges (49 percent)

I believe this is one of the most important differentiators we have in the industry. The technology can’t work without people that have the right expertise and training.
